My work uses the fall as a metaphor for the vulnerabilities that we all share and searches for paradoxes in that vulnerability.

For instance, is vulnerability a weakness or a strength? Vulnerability fosters the empathy that makes relationships stronger and triggers creativity born from a need to end uncertainty. The work is not about falling over or falling down. Rather, it addresses those other falls, of falling into despair, from grace, from favour or falling ill, and while it is not about redemption neither does it exclude it.  The drawings search interpersonal connections and our quest for a life lived with integrity and authenticity.

The work is paired back to charcoal on paper, just black and white, figures in a void yet all searching for their own dignity.
